Retail Assistant – The Pet Department

🕒 Part-time | 16–24 hours per week

Do you love animals and enjoy helping people find the perfect products for their pets?

At The Pet Department, it’s all about pets — from dogs and cats to horses and small animals. We’re looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Retail Assistant to join our team in Sydney.

As a Retail Assistant, you’ll help customers find the right products for them and their pets, keep the store looking welcoming and organised, and make sure every customer leaves with a great experience.

What will you be doing?

• Welcoming and assisting customers in-store

• Helping customers find the right products for their pets

• Providing friendly advice about our product range

• Unpacking and displaying new products

• Restocking shelves and keeping the store organised

• Assisting customers with product and order enquiries

• Working together with the team to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere

• And, of course, saying hello to the four-legged visitors who stop by 🐶🐾

Who are we looking for?

We’d love to hear from someone who:

• Genuinely loves animals

• Is friendly, positive and approachable

• Enjoys working with people

• Is confident working independently

• Is reliable and flexible

• Has an eye for keeping the store looking beautiful and organised

Previous retail or animal-related experience is a bonus, but a love for animals and great customer service are just as important to us.
